I ordered this in December if 2020 and received a unit that seemed like it was opened before. After assembling for the first time, I discovered the locking mechanism in the shovel head had a ridiculous amount of play. My guess is I got a unit that was torture tested and returned to Amazon.Not wanting to even deal with Amazon again, I contacted the manufacturer, Zune Lotoo. There, a representative named Joanna helped me out tremendously. She confirmed my details and said they'd ship me a proper shovel head.A month later, it arrives as promised. However, to my surprise, they shipped more than just the shovel head... they gave me an entire unit for the inconvenience! I'm typing this not to have people take advantage of this company, but instead, to let people know that there are still companies out there that truly care for the customer. They didn't “have to” do that, but they did.. and that's rare these days. Many thanks to Joanna and Zune Lotoo for your upscale class.Now, on to the shovel. Seriously, this shovel warrants the high price tag. The fit and finish is phenomenally exceptional. Thick CNC aircraft grade aluminum handle segments fit snugly with some monster rubber seals to keep the internals waterproof... I couldn't ask for more. As for the shovel head, it's more than durable. I did take my previous unit that was damaged from Amazon and experimented with its durability, and wow, It's strong.There is only one con to this shovel in my opinion, and that's the weight. The whole unit assembled is a bit on the heavy side if used for a bug-out shovel. Though the manufacturer clearly states that it had to be this way because of durability reasons, and this is obviously true in using it. Although, all is not lost! Just take out 2 segments from the handle! Sacrificing a bit of leverage gives you a phenomenal weight reduction without losing durability.In summary, to me, this shovel was worth every penny. It's got the tacti-cool factor along with serious durability, quality, and the manufacturer's backing. I highly recommend this product, and would buy it again if I ever lose this.
